Eighteen years ago Kara had a part-time job at Pat’s, a dog and some cats. Now she’s the co-owner, with an entire menagerie at home that includes chickens, ducks, cats, a dog and a husband. If there’s something you want to know about clothing or promotional products, Kara is the one who can help you, with her encyclopedic knowledge of our products always at her fingertips. After a peripatetic childhood as a member of a Park Service family, she has settled happily in Gunnison for the last two-plus decades, although she still loves to travel, hike and camp.
TL, a proud graduate of Lake Elementary (then a K-6 school), Ruland Junior High (long gone), Gunnison High School (still here, but looks nothing the same) and the University of Colorado-Boulder, spent 10 years as a journalist and three as a bookseller, intermingled with time as an adjunct English lecturer at WSC and winter airline baggage router, before coming in to offer assistance to his sick friend Pat Greene. Almost 24 years later, he’s still here, and so is Pat’s Screen Printing. We like to think both of these things would make Pat happy.
Vann graduated from Western State Colorado University in 2014 with his degree in Graphic Design. He lived in Crested Butte from 2000 – 2014; when his daughter was born he and his wife moved to Gunnison. In February 2020, just as the Covid Pandemic arrived, he was took on the role of graphic artist in the Pat’s family. When he’s not here at Pat’s or maintaining a home for his wife, daughter, 2 dogs and cat, he snowboards in the winter and plays golf in the summer.

Gilly has called the Gunnison Valley home for the past 31 years, after leaving the United Kingdom. She came via South America to visit a friend, and the rest is history. Some of her many hats include being the mother of two and a “crazy cat lady.” She has worked at both ends of the valley, choosing businesses that encourage her creative side and her love of meeting and helping people. This she gets to experience at Pat’s on a regular basis, since joining the team last fall. When she’s not working, she enjoys getting creative with recycled projects, riding a bike, paddling a kayak and generally enjoying this wonderful place she calls home.
James, of the House Powell, fourth of his name, is a 2017 graduate of Western State with a degree in English and a minor in business. He has been here at Pat’s for the past three years and helps both on the production and retail sides. And yes, he always wears a tie to work.
A member of the Pat’s team for 16 years, Jeff helps the printers by cleaning their screens. A lifelong Gunnison community member, Jeff graduated from Gunnison High School as a 4.0 student. He sees himself as a good friend and hard worker who is also an athlete. He received a gold medal for downhill skiing at the Winter Special Olympics.
Ben started with the Pat’s team in the summer of 2021. He will school you on many selected online games. His knowledge is highly sought after and respected by any novice or advanced player. He loves to challenge himself with tough high-school classes like “Watching Movies 101”. Gunnison High School only offers the highest educational choices like the aforementioned class.
Mahthilda joined the Pat’s team at the same time as her Papa, Vann. She runs back and forth between the print shop and the offices with special notices and important documents. She always brings a contagious smile to the workplace. She keep busy with her dance classes and Jiu Jit Su training year round.
Bear, who recently moved in with Lynn, TL and their two cats, works mornings as a greeter at Pat’s and as an advocate for shelter pets. He’s still figuring out which snacks are the good ones, but he is always up for some head and belly scratches.
